Resilient Entrepreneur - PJF National Pilot -
Situation
Through encouraging, educating and empowering entrepreneurship in the classroom, two surveys provided a unique lens into the solutions to combat the anxieties and stresses at an early age. 100% of teachers (212) identified gaps in Personal, Social, Health and Economic [PSHE] education provision, and 88% of young entrepreneurs (3,432) revealed they ‘were surprised with their own perseverance’. Another need that we have seen consistently is lack of access to diverse and relatable mentors.
Solution
The new course will consist of two presentations delivered in-person (Teacher and Student Engagement Presentation and SMART Goal Setting Presentation), Parents and Carers Resilient Entrepreneur Booklet, Student Toolkit, Student-friendly Tasks, 8 Video-lessons, Mentor matching and Assessment. We also budget for 200 hours of counselling sessions, design of a digital badge to act as recognition for Resilience skill development, and travel costs for five students to PJF Awards Ceremony in London.

Event Support
We rely on fundraising events to raise the vital funds needed to support our network of over 780 education providers across the UK. We host a Clay Pigeon Shooting, a Golf Day and a Day of Track Racing, all hosted by Peter Jones CBE. Tycoon Enterprise Competition
Tycoon aims to encourage the nation’s budding entrepreneurs and develop core enterprise skills. Tycoon is a national enterprise competition for students aged 6 to 18. Students across the UK are given the opportunity to work in teams to develop and run a business through the support of the Foundation. Tycoon businesses have access to a good will loan and compete against different schools.

Skills Badges
We welcome organisations to sponsor one of our skills badges, learners’ progress against our framework of eight enterprise skills. Through these badges, we recognise learners’ progress and development through their education. Skills Badges offer a fantastic opportunity for an organisation to be at the heart of our programmes, making a positive impact on the employability of young people across the UK.

Volunteering
As an individual or as part of a team you can support our face-to-face initiatives in schools across the UK. There are many ways to get involved, such as Business Surgeries and Day In The Life talks that take place every term. There are also opportunities to get involved virtually in the form of world-class mentoring, career workshops and idea generation sessions

National Entrepreneur of the Year
Leicester College student, Jevean Barryclough was announced as the 2023 winner. Jevean pitched Da Goat Clothing, a business that has turned her love for sewing and upcycled fashion into a successful brand. With the £5,000 investment, Jevean aims to launch a unisex fashion collection and propel her design into the mainstream.

Peter Jones CBE Crowns Winners
Anectote was crowned the 2023 Overall Winners of the Tycoon Enterprise Competition. The Tycoon team from Wycombe Abbey was awarded £1,000 investment by Peter Jones CBE at Hampton Court Palace. Anectote designs and produces a variety of customised tote bags with their slogan “tell your story through anectote”.

Tycoon UAE Competition
Al Diyafah High School in Dubai has swept the board in this year’s Tycoon UAE Competition. Run by UK-based charity, the Peter Jones Foundation, Tycoon is an annual competition that provides students from Key Stages 2 through to 5 with the opportunity to set up and run a business in school, developing essential skills along the way.

£172K raised in Charity Fundraiser
The Foundation was delighted to round off a successful day of fundraising. This year’s Charity Shoot £172K raised which will enable the Peter Jones Foundation to continue to support young people and their entrepreneurial dreams through programmes such as the Tycoon Enterprise Competition and National Entrepreneur of the Year.
